What's better..symantec antivirus or avg free edition?

I have symantec antivirus and comodo firewall pro(the free one)

am I better off with avg free instead of the symantec antivirus? is there a difference? is one better than the other?

These days you need a whole lot more than just a virus protection. Only about 15% of all malware is viruses. The rest is worms, trojans, phishing schemes, spyware, etc.
