How do you set up virus protection for laptop???

I purchased a new laptop...the anti virus is running out in a couple of days...I have norton with my desktop..a free service with Rogers. Do I have to purchase the antivirus for the laptop or will it just carry on as part of my Roger's package???

If your subscription is running out with Norton then it is probably up to you to renew it. I doubt if this Rogers outfit is a charity.

AVG is the usual free alternative recommended by everyone.

u can download rogers on as many computers as you want
The anti-virus on your desktop will not cover you on your laptop. You must download the Rogers protection to your laptop also, which they may or may not allow to more than one computer.

Or uninstall the anti-virus from the laptop and download Active Virus Shield for free:

I like Active Virus Shield. A lot. Active Virus Shield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world. Best of all it's free.

In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, Active Virus Shield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.

Full test chart is here:

Active Virus Shield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb ram)

Active Virus Shield detects and removes spyware, also.

Scans e-mail when using a local client, too.

And it updates up to 15 times a DAY with new virus definitions, 7 days a week!

Good stuff, free for everyone from:

Do NOT download an anti-virus called AVG. AVG is crap!
Get a free anti-virus here.
