Why are Macbooks so expensive?

a $1300 difference?

These laptops have the exact same specs (the windows one has more video ram however), same CPU, same HD, ram, etc.

Both got 5 ''eggs'' from their owners, so they are both reliable.

Antivirus software is free (avg free), firewalls are free (zonealarm), so maintenance is free.

And, the warranty for labor is longer on the Windows Laptop! (one year), and parts are the same as the macbook.

They have the same specs, but the price difference is enormous! So where does that $1300 go?

Into Steve Jobs' pocket.

Macs are expensive because it's a closed standard, meaning there is no direct competition. If you want to run Mac OS and Mac software, you must buy your computer from Apple; there is no competing vendor, because Apple does not license to clone makers. (Well, not any more.) Direct competition drives the price down on the Windows boxes.

maybe its a sexual pref. thing...Most of my Gay and Les Friends Love to share in the mac experience. As do I....I think that may cost more. Report It

I think the people who hate mac, do that only for one reason. THEY CANNOT AFFORD A MAC. However, there are a lot of freaks out there who are just scared of a whole new system, experience. But it's not apple's fault if somebody's stupid. Report It
