exe = execute .... or Start

if you have software with a start button, it will do something ...

... that is good for an anti-virus program...

... but bad if it is an email with a picture or information only. They are the ones you have to watch out for

AVG is usually dependable

.exe are executional files and are commonly used by computer programs, but they can be viruses. If you downloaded this file from the vendor's website, then it should be safe. If you got it from anywhere else like limewire, edonkey... then don't open it.
No thats not true, you can check your AVG exes

at the link below. hope this helps.
ALL programs that are installable or executable will end in .exe.

Almost all viruses and other malware will be an .exe file. However, 99% or all .exe files are harmless. Without .exe files your computer would not operate.

Do not start deleting .exe files indiscriminantly. You can easily hose your operating system.
Exe is execution file. Its just saying that its not protected and a exe file can be anything... Virus's, Pop ups, anything.
the most of the programs for the Windows are in .exe format.
windows also uses exe files. it is installed only from exe file.

and all the programs like ms office and all the programs installed in windows are exe files. so dont worry.

but some people misuse that and launch virus through it. so use only the known software and dont install the unknown source

all programs has an exe file. if it hasn't, you couldn't use it.

exe files are most probably to infect with viruses. all you need is to have an antivirus in your computer.
Yes, there are. Make sure you are downloading the .exe from a credible source.
